Queridos hermanos y hermanas,
Este domingo toda la Iglesia celebra el Domingo del Buen Pastor. En el Evangelio encontramos cómo algunos intentan llegar a las ovejas mintiendo y engañando, pero las ovejas conocen la voz del Buen Pastor y lo siguen.
Como sacerdote, esta fiesta me hace reflexionar cómo puedo guiar a mis ovejas como Cristo quiere que las guíe. Sé que mi misión, y la de mis hermanos sacerdotes, es amar y dar la vida por las ovejas que nos han sido confiadas. Además, nuestra misión es defender a las ovejas de quienes intentan robarlas y hacerles daño. Amar a las ovejas es nuestra vocación. A menudo recuerdo las palabras del Papa Francisco: “El Pastor debe estar con las ovejas, debe oler a oveja”.
Hoy recuerdo que yo también soy parte del rebaño, y esto me consuela inmensamente. Soy consciente de que soy parte de una comunidad de fe que camina junta siguiendo a Cristo, y siento una inmensa alegría por la misión que el Señor me ha encomendado como Pastor de la Parroquia San José.

Dear brothers and sisters,
This Sunday the entire Church celebrates Good Shepherd Sunday. In the Gospel we find how some try to get to the sheep by lying and deceiving, but the sheep know the voice of the Good Shepherd and follow him.
As a priest, this feast makes me reflect how I can lead my sheep as Christ wants me to lead them. I know that my mission, and that of my brother priests, is to love and lay down our lives for the sheep that have been entrusted to us. Also, our mission is to defend the sheep from those who try to steal them and harm them. Loving the sheep is our vocation. Often I remember the words of Pope Francis: “The Shepherd should be with sheep, should smell like the sheep.”
Today I am reminded that I am also one with the flock, and this consoles me immensely. I am aware that I am part of a community of faith that walks together following Christ, and I feel immense joy for the mission that the Lord has given me as Shepherd of Saint Jospeh’s Parish.
